We were so happy to capture their wedding and to play a small part in their story. Going through all the images had me smiling and tearing up. There were literally THOUSANDS of photos to pick from, yet these can only skim the surface of the love that filled up their day. What I do know is this; these two were made for each other. Their love is the stuff of fairy tales and I KNOW their marriage will be used by God to bring about His glory on earth! Love you guys! I know for you, THE BEST IS YET TO COME!

We didn't have a chance to meet them ahead of time, but we fell in love with them right away. It was clear they were made for each other and fit together like puzzle pieces. Amanda never stopped smiling, Jeremy never took his eyes off of his bride. The weather could not have been more beautiful. A vibrant blue, sunny sky served as the perfect back drop for their ceremony at the Osprey at Belmont Bay.  There was much laughter, a few tears and a whole lot of love! Check out some of the highlights from their day below:

It was one of my favorite weddings ever. It was my favorite, because we were surrounded by family! You see, Evan and Jenna go to church with us. Most of the guests were part of our church family too! God so clearly had his hand on their day. At the beginning of the week there was nearly a 100% chance of rain! We were all praying that the weather would hold. The exact moment we were done capturing the first look and family portraits; lighting lit up the sky and a crack of thunder reverberated across the valley. We made it inside JUST before the heavens opened up and rained buckets on the vineyard!  Miraculously, The skies cleared just in time for guests to arrive and the ceremony proceeded under sunny skies. Again we had just enough time to capture the after ceremony portraits and get inside before the heavens opened up again! I was amazed at the timing. 

Even with the rain, it was a glorious day. Jenna took Evan’s breath away in a gown from Ava Laurenne. Evan was devastatingly handsome in his suit from Joseph A Banks. The day went off without a hitch, thanks to the brilliant planning of Anyvent planners. We laughed. We cried. We celebrated a love graciously given from our good, good Father. It doesn’t get better than this. Yet for these two... The best is yet to come.

This weekend we had the honor of capturing Joel & Amelia's wedding! It was literally THE perfect day. A balmy 68 degrees, partly cloudy with a fresh breeze. Seriously brides would give almost anything for a day like that! We have worked with Amelia's mother, Susan, for other weddings in the family. She is a planning GENIUS and there was plenty of time to get all the shots we needed and then some. This was our first time capturing a wedding at Rixey Manor. It was dreamy. As a huge Jane Austen fan, I was walking around channeling Elizabeth Bennet in my posing and in capturing the details. Scott is pretty lucky I didn't end up calling him Mr. Darcy all day.  Isadora was incredibly helpful, organizing the guest and making sure everyone was were they needed to be.

Joel and Amelia exchanged traditional heartfelt vows, the guest enjoyed gorgeous views overlooking the mountains and Nate from I'm The DJ kept the party going all night long. I love their images so much, check some of them out below:

These two were an absolute joy to capture. It's not easy to be vulnerable in front of the camera, let alone to be so in front of all the people who come each year to see the cherry blossoms... I can NOT wait to capture their wedding later this year!

Ally and Brian's wedding was an absolute pleasure to capture. The day had a dream like quality, one event flowing flawlessly to the next. At one point Ally turned to me and said 'It really does go by fast, doesn't it?!'. It really does. THAT is why I love capturing weddings. I want all my couples to enjoy their day. I don't  want them to worry about missing a moment. They won't because we will capture it for them! They say rain on your wedding is good luck. Well if that is true Tori and Taylor will have the luckiest life together ever! It didn't just rain on their wedding day, it poured. We didn't get a little wet, we were ALL soaking wet. It was exhilarating! I couldn't stop smiling. I love a bride who knows exactly what she wants. Tori wanted to get married out in the gardens at Maymont, and she wasn't going to let rain stop her. The best part was witnessing her her family and friends rally to make it happen. It was absolutely perfect.

When Neema and Kali called us a few months ago to capture their wedding we knew we had found a perfect match.  We were beyond excited they thought so too!  It is SO important to have good chemistry with the people you surround yourself with on your wedding day. The second we walked in there was a flurry of organized chaos. Everyone was laughing, and full of joy. I loved seeing how truly loved they were by their friends and family (as there was hardly a dry eye in the place all day). From getting ready, to the first look all the way through to the end of the night, the air was filled with a contagious excitement for these two starting out their lives together. Here are some images to give you a feel for their day:

I love Ayla's heart so much! Every time a family member or friend came in the room she would break down in happy tears! Capturing all that emotion is what I LIVE FOR! Much of Rouven's family came from Germany to witness the nuptials. Wow did they bring life to the party! I laughed at all the dancing and revelry.  Every moment was filled with their own special meaning and love for their friends and family. It was SUCH an honor to capture it! This one in particular made my ovaries hurt. BAD. Jen used to live across the street from me here in the 'Burg; even though she's moved we are still good friends. As it turned out, I missed her baby shower to capture a wedding! I couldn't think of a better way to honor her and her sweet growing family by gifting her a bump to one year package! Join me in congratulating Lydnsey & Rick! This gorgeous couple tied the knot at the Keswick Vineyard in Charlottesville, Virginia. I loved how the owner/ coordinator made sure every detail was perfect and that the entire affair went seamlessly from start to finish. This black tie event featured beautiful soft blooms & lambs ear (arranged by foxtail florist). The bride dazzled in a mermaid, Marisa wedding gown. The groom was devastatingly handsome in his Vera Wang suit.  Nathan of DJFit was a fantastic master of ceremonies and kept the party going all night long. This will definitely go down as one of my favorite weddings! The two met while attending the University of Mary Washington where they both happened to be taking the same English class. I am convinced Colleen's serene countenance and sweet presence attracted him. Robert is her perfect counterpart; gregarious and kind hearted. Together they make a perfect team and parents to their sweet fur babies Poppy and Daisy (pictured below).

Emily knows no strangers and I immediately felt drawn to her lively open nature. Yoni, likewise a doctor by trade had a gracious, compassionate nature that was so endearing. The two tied the knot at The Hotel Monaco in Washington D.C. It was one of the most beautiful weddings we have captured yet ( I know I've said that a time or two but it's always true!). Emily's bouquet made by J.Morris flowers featured stunning dinner plate dahlias and other soft blooms in shades of pink and orange. The ladies looked their finest by the ministrations of Alison Harper & Company and the party was absolutely hopping thanks to the live band, Prime Time. Everything unfolded like a dream, with much for us to capture! Here are some of the images from their day:

Kind, self-possessed and deeply in love with each other, the two made capturing their day a blast. The ceremony and reception were held at Wollam Gardens. This venue, a working flower farm dazzled with a natural charm. Rows of flowers, historic buildings and an alfresco reception site combined, made it gorgeously memorable day. Eat and Smile Catering helped them create a meaningful menu (chicken and waffles representing where they live, and Salmon representing their first international trip together). The bouquets were absolutely gorgeous and featured Dahlias grown and assembled at Wollam Gardens.  My personal favorite part was the live band: The Bachelor Boys.This was a seriously talented group that kept the guest dancing all night long. Here are some images from their day:

We met in downtown Fredericksburg at the Kenmore Inn, where we spent an evening laughing and capturing gorgeous images. As we were passing Orofino, the owner noticed us checking to see if the gate was locked (the court yard is a favorite spot of mine here in the 'burg). It was closed for the day, but just as we were about to leave he came out and opened it... Just so we could grab some photos!! These images turned out to be my favorite from this session. So here's my plug: go and check them out! Not only was that such a cool experience for us, but their food and service are amazing!

It was just enough to make everything beautiful (and still safe!). This couple had a really neat story. Their in-laws were also their God-Parents! Interestingly enough though they were connected in this way, the two rarely interacted and didn't begin their love story until their college days. All the family connections made for barrels of laughter and a closeness between families I have rarely witnessed at a wedding.  Here is a sampling of images to give you a feel for their day:
